Cape Cod Golf Courses

There's a reason Cape Cod is sometimes referred to as "The Golf Coast." The area has over 40 golf courses, with 27 of them open to the public. You can choose from world-class championship courses to nine-hole courses that were constructed in the late 1800s.

And, because of Cape Cod's somewhat mild climate, you typically have the opportunity to play throughout the year. 

The Captains Golf Course

Location: 1000 Freemans Way, Brewster, MA

The Captains Golf Course is possibly the best known of Cape Cod's public golf facilities. It's owned by the town of Brewster, and it's actually made up of two courses: the Port Course, and the Starboard Course. Both are 18 holes. Brian Silva, a world-renowned golf course architect, designed both courses.

The Captains Golf Course also has an on-site restaurant, a fully stocked Pro Shop, and onsite PGA professionals for lessons and clinics.

Dennis Pines Golf Course

Location: 50 Golf Course Rd, South Dennis, MA

Distance: 6.5 miles

Dennis Pines Golf Course is an excellent 18-hole course that can be played by golfers of all skill levels. However, it is one of Cape Cod's more challenging courses. Located on 170 acres of pine forest land, the course design emphasizes accuracy, not distance.

The twelfth hole, in particular, is a very difficult par five. Dennis Pines Golf Course also has an on-site restaurant and lounge and a fully-stocked Pro Shop. You'll also have access to an excellent driving range and a practice green.

Dennis Highlands Golf Course

Location: 825 Old Bass River Rd, Dennis, MA

Dennis Highlands Golf Course is the sister course to Dennis Pines Golf Course. This 18-hole public course is located on 175 acres of rolling grounds, punctuated with pines and oaks. This is a traditional course and is considered somewhat less demanding than Dennis Pines Golf Course.

Dennis Highlands Golf Course also has an on-site restaurant and lounge and a fully-stocked Pro Shop. You'll also have access to an excellent driving range and a practice green.

Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course

Location: 1460 MA-149, Marstons Mills, MA

Distance: 17.9 miles

Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course is located near Marstons Mills. This 18-hole course provides fantastic views along it's well-groomed greens and fairways. The course is known for its rolling greens and large chipping areas.

A number of tournaments are held here, including the USGA Mid Amateur, Massachusetts Mid Amateur, Massachusetts Amateur, and the US Amateur. Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds Golf Course has a driving range and an on-site pro if you need help. 

Blue Rock Golf Course

Blue Rock Golf Course is a great course for all ages and skill levels. In fact, it's an excellent course for new golfers and junior golfers. Located in a quiet, wooded setting the course features four picturesque water holes. It's ninth hole features a kidney-shaped green, and is considered one of Cape Cod's best holes.

When you play at Blue Rock Golf Course, you also have access to two putting greens, chipping greens, and a practice range. The course also has a full-service Pro Shop and an on-site restaurant, The Grill Room.

Harwich Port Golf Club

Location: 51 South St, Harwich Port, MA

Distance: 2.2 miles

Par: 34 (nine-hole course)

Located just a short distance from The Tern Inn, Harwich Port Golf Club is an excellent 9-hole course suitable for a variety of skill levels. This semi-private golf club has been serving our area since 1920.
