Things to Do in Cape Cod

Beaches close to The Tern Inn are primarily along the coast of the Lower Cape. Most of the beaches are along Nantucket Sound. The waters of the sound are relatively warm, around 72°F, which makes swimming and simply playing in the water pleasant activities. Our beaches are also characterized by clean white sands and, in some cases, an abundance of seashells.

When you stay at the Tern Inn, you're close to many of Cape Cod's hiking and biking trails. There are plenty of trails near our inn, and nationally known trails throughout the Cape Cod National Seashore.

If you are an expert on the water, you'll be able to ride on the waves with your own water sports equipment to your heart's content. Those who are new to water sports can find lessons and rentals to make their experience memorable.

There's a reason Cape Cod is sometimes referred to as "The Golf Coast." The area has over 40 golf courses, with 27 of them open to the public. You can choose from world-class championship courses to nine-hole courses that were constructed in the late 1800s.

Most visitors to our part of Cape Cod focus on our excellent beaches along Nantucket Sound. While these popular beaches are beautiful, don't make the mistake of overlooking our many freshwater lakes and ponds.

The beach is a great day for a family. Pleasant Road Beach is large and equipped with many amenities. It has tons of room, a great view of the ocean, and is a short half mile walk from your room!
